In an increasingly fast-moving world, I try to embrace the value of Quinuituq-the Inuit philosophy of patience and calm. Quinuituq describes the deep patience needed while waiting for a sudden (shortlasting) event.
This is something my free time largely revolves around. I spend a lot of time in nature, looking for animals. Suddenly, sometimes after seeing nothing for many hours, I witness a rare animal, scene or event. Often the sighting doesn’t last longer than a few seconds, but remains in the memory for a long time. Occasionally, I have the chance to capture it on film.
Many years back, I fell in love with the ocean. Away from the rat race of our society, I enjoy the endless expanse of the ocean, the sound of the waves, the smell of the ocean water, the brutality of nature’s elements. The ease with which seabirds are carried by the wind over hundreds or thousands of kilometres, the unexpected encounters with dolphins and whales always leave a deep impression on me. As Michael Palin once said ‘At sea, the pace of life slows to a very agreeable level’
On this website you will find a collection of photos and impressions I have captured. Each image tells its own story, a moment, a feeling I wanted to capture. Feel free to browse through the collection and get inspired. If an image touches you or makes you curious, please let me know! How to reach me is another question.

Likewise, whether it’s my work, my passions or the way I grow, I believe real progress comes from focus, perseverance and the calmness to let things unfold in their own time
